Adore La Vie Puts New Life in Children’s Fashions

Amanda Boyd, the designer for Adore La Vie was born and raised in Iowa. Iowa and the Midwest conjure up a lot of thoughts, but it is doubtful anyone would think that a fun, adorable children’s clothing line would originate there. Adore La Vie is the vision of Amanda, who knew since the age of five that she wanted to be a fashion designer. Amanda remained true to her childhood dream and achieved a degree in Apparel Design with a minor in Creative Design, from both Iowa State University and London College of Fashion.

Amanda began her career with Spiegel Catalog, where she worked for over three years and describes it as an excellent experience. Ready to spread her creative wings, Amanda took off for the West Coast to pursue a design career with Gymboree Corporation in San Francisco. She was truly living her dream; she had fallen in love with the West Coast and designing children’s clothing.

Amanda spent over six years designing for Gymboree as well as Janeville and Janie & Jack which are all part of the Gymboree Corporation. In 2008, Amanda decided to pursue her big dream of launching her own design company, Adore La Vie, which means “love life.” From the designer with a Midwest soul and West Coast spirit, Amanda showcases this vibe through every collection she creates.

Adore La Vie has always been a beautiful expression of clothing for babies and girls, focusing on high-end, special occasion dressing with pretty styles. This spring, after many requests from buyers, Adore La Vie will debut a boys’ collection for Spring/Summer 2012. The Nautical and Safari themes feature coordinating pieces for girls and boys.

The Nautical line includes a variety of sophisticated prints and textiles such as eyelet; bold graphics; and an elegant navy, royal, deep coral and ivory palette. The Safari collection mixes chic prints, tribal stripes and glitter tulle with saturated tones of fuchsia, orange, cocoa and white. Featuring button-down shirts; boys’ polos; cotton tees; unisex khakis; full skirts; and wrap, tiered and strappy dresses, the clothing fits girls and boys ages 6 months to 10 years.
