City Threads’ American-Made Collection Reinvents Summertime Staples With Clever Graphics And Super Soft Fabrics For Spring '14

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (August 27, 2013)—City Threads puts its spin on classic warm-weather must-haves for a spring collection that’s fun and carefree. The relaxed lifestyle label punctuates the line with innovative graphic themes, images and placement designed to excite kids’ imaginations. It comprises T-shirts, soft jersey polos, hoodies, shorts, dresses, one-pieces, swim trunks, pajamas and underwear for a 24/7 style that touches every aspect of a child’s life. The brand continues its devotion to comfort with soft, quality fabrics, solid construction, and easy fit. City Threads is proudly made in the United States and ranges from sizes 0 to 14 for boys and girls.

“With our Spring ’14 collection, City Threads has done what we do best by putting our signature trend-right twist on the iconic American style staples kids love to live in. Plus, the fabrics are comfy enough that kids won’t want to take them off,” says co-owner and designer Shayna Samuels. “To us, City Threads is also synonymous with quality, and we’re able to deliver on that promise each season because we manufacture the majority of the line in the U.S.”

The spring collection lets boys be boys, whether they’re in the surf or wandering different turf. Classic themes like music, rock & roll, cars and skulls get the City Threads treatment thanks to made-you-look graphics that make a bold statement.

Always looking to shake things up, the brand offers graphics that spill over onto side panels for added visual interest on tees, tanks, swim trunks and shorts. Meanwhile, the line also plays with scale, contrasting single oversized lightning bolt, skull and guitar screen prints on one leg with all-over prints of the same graphic on the other leg of swim trunks and twill shorts. Retro wave and surfing images dive into the season but it’s the 3D fin on the back of the shark hoodie that really provides bite. And rockin’ guitars, sweet drum kits and blastin’ boomboxes turn up the volume.

The color palette ranges from vibrant hues to lighter sun-bleached tones, including elf, ketchup, sea, denim, navy, concrete, road gray, black and white. Silhouettes include tees, Polos, hoodies, monochromatic pull-on twill and jersey shorts, and twill cargos. But it’s the label’s swim program that makes the biggest splash with moms year after year thanks to the quality and durability of the trunks. And this season, City Threads introduces screen printing on the trunks to allow for more versatility in how the beach-ready graphics are applied.

Girls’ wear mixes juicy tones like purple and hot pink with sweet pastels like pool and light pink. The line is comprised of glittery starfish, butterfly and girl power tees and tanks, as well as jersey raglan dresses in solid and all-over prints like butterfly, cupcake, tattoo birds and rainbows. Bike shorts, twill shorts, twill jeggings, jersey skorts, 2-pocket skirts, shorts and skeggings complete the look.

Baby picks up on the older kid palette with one-pieces in solids, stripes and prints. And this season, the label adds coordinating pants to the collection. Themes include spiders, space, rock and toys for boys and rainbows, butterflies, cupcakes for girls.
