For animal lovers everywhere, the Acme World Zoo offers a stylish way to help displaced animals and teach children to do the same. The Acme World Zoo offers the kütelight, a modern, back-lit wall light with enchanting animal silhouettes. This luminary’s creation spans generations, from its salvaged vintage 1950’s animal silhouettes to its initial inspiration drawn from the hurricane Katrina disaster. The Giggle Guide® is pleased to spotlight this innovative product and its socially-responsible beacon of hope and caring.

The Giggle Guide™ has discovered a sleep and swimwear brand that’s a sensory-loaded, multi-tasking wonder! It glows. Changes colors. Reveals hidden designs. Emits scents. Encourages creativity. And so much more! It’s See You! Kids. Put it to work in your stores (or kids’ wardrobe) and see what all it can do for your sales!

This is one of my favorite times of year. It’s warm, beautiful and green outside and instead of going Back-to-School, I start Part II of my bi-annual trade show circuit. Current count: 2 down, 6 to go.

Trade show season is in my top 3 “Things I Love about my Job.” It starts with unpacking box after box of Spring 2010 samples and continues with meeting new clients, networking with colleagues and visiting beautiful cities all over the US. It’s crazy, it’s busy and I occasionally feel like I’ll never “get it all done” by October 31st but… I’m happily addicted to this time of year. We can always sleep in November, right?

The first of our Artist Range, Huggalugs Leg and Arm Huggers introduces two designs by New York artist Matthew Langille featuring iconic childrens images drawn by hand especially for little girl Huggalug’ers. “Global Fairies” features multi-cultural winged girls with sparkling silver crowns and “Cupcakes” has illustrations of the yummy confection complete with candles.

I’m back from vacation…well, I’ve been back actually. The picture above is me and I completely look exhausted in this picture, which cracks me up because I was. It was the most rewarding and exhausting trip I have ever taken. We had a blast though and so did my kids. The picture below is my son Austin walking along the Vietnam Memorial checking out all the names of the men who died. If you look there is a reflection with my husband David and my son Jacob in the picture as well. It was really something to see.

It’s been said time and time again, but there’s no denying it — kids are the future. After all, children of today will be affecting the economy and politics of tomorrow — voting with both their ballots and wallets Now, Web sites, designed specifically for kids, provide parents with new tools to teach their kids green values. Crafts, Web games and environmental facts are all communicated through a cast of various green characters, complete with theme songs, colorful graphics, and yes – merchandise. Here’s a look at some our our favorites on the growing online greenscape: Planetpal, Scrap Kins and Treesures.

It’s a jacket! It’s a raging animal! It’s a pillow! It’s a bag! . . . It’s T-Jack! Wonders seem to be busting at the seams with this transforming multi-featured jacket-of-all-trades for Fall. Kids will warm up to the jacket that tansforms them into favorite animals, and calms them too in the form of a cozy pillow for naps and rest times. Here’s a discovery that The Giggle Guide™ just had to share before the school bells ring!

A fantastic little blog called “Shop With me Mama” wrote a really sweet review of our clips and headbands recently. The woman behind Shop With me Mama is Kim, a stay at home Mom with two small children. As she says on her blog:

Yep, I’m honest Smile

Children's Club - New York, New York (8/2/09 - 8/4/09)

It’s show time again and the ENK Children’s Club Show at Pier 94 in New York City did not disappoint. It was heart-warming to witness the pursuit of so much good old American business. I saw orders being written, lots of smiles and laughter and a general sense of purpose. The Giggle Guide™ has found some outstanding lines featured, from high styles taken from the runway to educational threads and one-of-a-kind gifts. Here are our highlights from the shows, including Saurette, Meta Threads, Tangerine Sky, Tree by Kerri Lee and Earnest Sewn Kids.

Do we really know what our kids are watching on television these days? There are lots of television shows that are approved for children and are both child and parent friendly. But do we take the time to actually watch them? Spending time with your family watching a T.V. show or a made for television movie can be a great way to bond with them and start up good conversations, but are all the shows appropriate?

At The Giggle Guide™, our “Road to Success” series shares the interesting paths leaders in the children’s industry have taken that have guided and influenced their businesses. We recently heard about the journey of Pat Martinek, founder of Martinek BéBé. We’ve all heard about “Renaissance men,” but nothing about “Renaissance women.” Pat is a true Renaissance woman. She is known for her award-winning furniture products — round & rectangular cribs, hand-forged cradles, armoires, toy chests and other baby-oriented furniture — plus innovative, elegantly designed store fixtures.
