America is such a diverse country with so many points of view and traditions to draw on, it’s almost impossible to pin down one look and label it “American Style”. While we don’t have one standard look, we do have a set of ideals we’re known for, and these can be seen in the products we wear and use. Our love for wide open spaces is apparent in western wear like you’ll find at Cuddlestar. Our innovation is seen in the “Why didn’t I think of that?” simplicity of the The Little Lasso. Our respect for the innocence and beauty of childhood shines through in fashions from companies like Malley & Co. and A Little Annafaith.

In today’s world, many daily interactions are quick-paced and short-lived. As electronics and screen time take over lives, occasionally kids forget the most basic, natural part of childhood: play. Germany takes us back to the basics with wonderful, traditional toys that rely on brains, not batteries. HABA has branched out from its classic wooden toys to create modern versions with heirloom quality. sigikid takes its cue from children’s need for cuddling, and creates developmentally appropriate toys. Ravensburger produces puzzles that will forever change how people think of putting pieces together. Hape Toys focuses on wood toys made from natural materials.

Studies show that children who are exposed to multiple cultures and languages while growing up tend to be more successful and creative adults. This was definitely true for Yaiza and Isabel Ambruster, a pair of sisters whose unique multicultural upbringing inspired them to launch their own children’s clothing collection, Little Lelia. The collection is designed in New York, made in Germany, and draws from the rich textile traditions of Latin America, showcasing vivid patterns in block-print style as well as other pattern types. Moons, butterflies, and polka dots are present, but not in same graphic artistic style usually found on children’s clothing.

The Sili Squeeze™ is the original reusable squeeze pouch with both a spill-proof and free flowing spout. Perfect for all your homemade baby food and smoothie recipes, healthful purees, and those ready made favorites like yogurt and applesauce.

Halloween is one of the most celebrated nights of the year, with people all around the world taking part in this spooky night. These days Halloween conjures up images of Kids trick or treating dressed up as little witches, vampires or werewolves. But Halloween has much more to it than that, so we’ve decided to give you our own Horrible History of Halloween…

• It is believed that Halloween comes from the Celtic harvest festivals and was mixed in with the Christian festival of “All Hallows Eve”.

Teeth are milestone markers for parents and kids alike. Painful coming in and sometimes coming out, we all know brushing and flossing is crucial to keeping pain away in between. Anyone who has tried to teach a wriggling toddler how to properly swish and spit knows a lot more toothpaste ends up in gullets than in the sink. Thankfully that worry is lessened with natural toothpastes such as Jack N’ Jill. Made in Melbourne, Australia starting in 1949, the toothpaste is 100% safe for young children. Flavors like banana, blackcurrant, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry make for fruity fun.

The fall leaves are blowing down the busy streets of New York and there’s anticipation in the air. Even in the brief lull between the summer tourist season and the explosive activity of the holidays, there’s still plenty to see and do, including ENK’s Children’s Club show. Between October 19th and 21st, the show will be bringing some of the world’s best children’s products and companies to the Jacob Javits Center. Coolibar, DeSalitto, Izzy & Ferd, and Junee Jr. have all earned their place at this year’s show. We wish them the best of luck and encourage you to check out the wonderful products they have to offer.

Given today’s educational climate, many shoppers want a fun way to encourage kids’ interest in science, but so many games on the market are ultra-complicated and few appeal to all ages and generations. There’s a new brand, na2ure, bringing games that are gorgeous to behold, PhD-vetted and eco-conscious –– a triple positive whammy. The na2ure library includes three beautifully designed games that will fascinate your customers: the Ani-gram-it board game, Ani-gram-it To Go and ferret.

Everybody likes to hear inspirational stories about a small business owner’s rise to success. An everyday Joe or Jane has an idea that turns into a full-fledged enterprise with thousands if not millions of units sold each year. While these upbeat overviews make readers feel good, they often don’t tell the whole story of the climb to the top, which can include failed prototypes, brutal schedules, financial difficulties, and all the other not-so-pretty aspects of being a new business owner. Sometimes, an entrepreneur finds that her business has become dormant and needs a complete re-start. That was the case for the owner of children’s clothing company Plum Pudding.

Cindy Cohn understands how much one meaningful gift can affect someone’s life. When she was 11 years old, Cindy received a gift of a shirt with her name spelled out in cute, colorful characters across the front. It quickly became one of her favorite possessions. Decades later, she still owns that shirt, and cites it as the inspiration for her company, Poseys People in Poses. The company, casually known as Poseys, offers a wide selection of keepsake apparel and accessories with unique, personalized touches. These t-shirts, pullover shirts, pillow cases and canvas bags are meant to reflect the hobbies and interests of the owner.
