The Giggle Guide™ introduces our exclusive “Ask The Moms” series. We’ve surveyed 26 mothers, living throughout the United States and Canada, about today’s children’s market and the products they purchase. We’re kicking things off with a question to help everyone get to know the moms, and their purchasing influences, a little better:

What are the primary ways you discover new children’s products?

Let me set the stage for the theme on my blog. James and I have had endless conversations on what is considered “good” behavior with our children. If you have never had a pet, not just an animal you have around the house, then you don’t fully understand the similarities between the two. Hopefully I can explain.

No Slippy Hair Clippy®, known for innovative luxury hair clips, is expanding their product mix this spring with two wonderful new products: the French Clippy™ and No Slippy® Headbands.

The French Clippy™, perfect for older toddlers and girls with more hair, is lined in velvet with an additional piece of velvet secured around the clasp. This feature makes these clips super snug in the silkiest, most “slippery” hair. They are an excellent addition for the store desiring quality, function, and fashion - all in one brand! They will wholesale for $3.50–$10.00.

The city council of Chicago voted on May 13, 2009 to ban the use of BPA in all beverage and food containers labeled for use by children under the age of three. The ban was approved after stricter legislation that included all children’s products was defeated. The ban will apply to all containers sold after January 31, 2010. Bisphenol A, or BPA, is a chemical used during the manufacturing process that hardens plastic. The chemical has been linked to developmental delays as well as an increase in certain types of cancers and diabetes.

A good day is when you laugh. Several times a day, if possible. Or at least a hearty giggle. Since our business is everything to do with children, The Giggle Guide™ wants to start sharing how funny kids are. Children bring joy, laughter and an oftentimes hysterical view of life. Let’s celebrate their sense of humor.

A giggle from my past, to get started:

I had to post this picture today courtesy of Jason Munford. It’s of my son Ryan #11 scoring a touchdown, but it’s the ref that makes the picture. The opponent missed the tackle, rolled, and the ref had to jump….so cool. And great job Ryan…you truly are a stud!
I’m still working on this big custom safari themed order which I’m hoping to post some pictures of tomorrow…so please check back. Have a great day- Marnie V.

Hello….just taking a break from a HUGE custom job I’m working and I need to step away from for a little bit. I’ve been showing little bits of my home every couple of weeks and today I’m bringing you my youngest son Austin’s room. He is a serious trinket collector, football lover, book reader, and the sweetest 9 yr. old ever! The letter A above I made when we first moved in, the wood came from scraps that my house was built with. Oh and the foot on the wall…that’s a football fathead…of course.

The CPSC has just released a 28 page PDF document to help sellers of used children’s products understand the CPSIA and existing regulations:

CPSC Handbook for Resale Stores and Product Resellers

While it’s directed at the sale of used products, it certainly contains more “digestible” information on the CPSIA then most of government publications. Smile
