sometimes feel like I come on this blog and complain about all the computer issues I have, but OMG I have them. I have had two viruses within the last two weeks, in which I’ve been late meeting deadlines. I’m afraid to even mention to clients just because I don’t want them to think I’m a flaky artist, and I’m not. I usually get comments on how fast i turn things around. But let me tell you when you live in Texas and it rains for SEVEN days straight, and I mean flooding rain, and your computer is WIFi…you are bound to have issues.

Fun and Funky Mommy is a great blog that reviews baby and children’s products. The woman behind the blog is named Dana and a mother herself. She used to own a baby consignment store so she knows all about children’s fashion!

There are a surprisingly large list of women on the blog circuit who are incredibly brilliant writers. Most are mothers, some are activists, some have gone to college, others have not. However, they all have two things in common, a talent for putting pen to paper, or in this case fingers to keyboard, and an ever present ability to laugh at themselves and inspire others to laugh along with them. If you enjoy a hearty guffaw or the occasional shedding of a well deserved tear, then you should give these ladies your support and visit their blogs. I think you will be happy you did.

Bebe Bella designs honestly claims all of the companies merchandise is made in the U.S.A…to get even more specific they are based right here, out of our very own Minnesota! Being a Woman owned and run Minnesotan based company is a statement not many businesses can make. It is also something our founder and entrepreneur Melissa Sachse prides her business as being.

Over the last decade or so, I have noticed a very discernible pattern. It seems that our primary target demographic, moms, has embraced technology with a fervor, becoming one of the most prolific and powerful groups on the Internet…yet those of us on the ‘commerce’ side, (retailers and vendors), have for the most part seriously lagged behind. Before we can move forward, we must understand where we’ve been, and why we were there.

Almost every Web site I visit has an About Us page. It’s a personal touch on a website and one that I visit on almost every site I browse. What most small business owners or marketing directors forget when they create this page is that this page is for a specific, targeted audience. The About Us page is a concise summary for your brand, explaining why you felt compelled to start a business, why your products should get a piece of a consumer’s disposable income and why you should be trusted to deliver on your promise.

Just a few long weeks ago, I found myself seemingly “without a job!” Was I suddenly one of those people I hear about every day? Visions of bread lines danced in my head. The news clobbered me (“not due to performance!”) on a Tuesday, just before April Fool’s. So, no one was joking. The very next day I got up and went to work on my new job - finding my next great opportunity! I pushed the negativity down that nagged, “What are you going to DO!?” And went to work on selling me and expecting the best.
