Children's Club - New York, New York (3/8/09 - 3/10/09)

New York, NY (March 17, 2009) ENK International held the Fall Edition of the Children’s Club at the Javits Center in New York City from March 8-10, 2009. The show was home to 810 collections representing over 15 countries, including collections from France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Peru and Israel, to name a few. Top US showrooms were also a strong force at the show, offering buyers one- stop shopping and the opportunity to see exactly where the overall market is heading.

Check out the new artwork that is being featured in Los Angeles California. If you don’t live there, you can see it online. There are many new designs that are ready for spring. The styles are versatile so they work in both boys and girls rooms.

I’ve been wanting to create a piece with an elephant for some time now, but I just couldn’t get it out of my brain. Well..as you can see, it finally came out.

I completely forgot to introduce one of my new paintings for 2009, it’s titled “Polar Mountain.”

I don’t really know what exactly inspired me in the design of this piece except that I have been wanting to create something with Polar Bears for awhile now. And I of course wanted to throw something out into the industry that was completely different than every other Polar Bear art I’ve seen.

A few posts back I had mentioned that I would start showing bits and pieces of my home. So today I decided to take some pictures of my front garden. It’s been a work in progress over the last couple of years and it’s finally looking the way I had planned. And with Spring finally arriving here in Texas… my flowers are really starting to bloom.

J. Austin Ryan was created by artist and illustrator, Marnie Vollenhals. At a young age Marnie was born with natural talent, she even still has her kindergarten award “ Most Artistic”. Growing up in Southern California definitely gave Marnie her own unique style.

Welcome to The Giggle Guide®, an ever-expanding, online resource dedicated to today’s children’s industry. At its heart, The Giggle Guide® is a “live” directory and journal that caters to all categories of children’s fashion, toys, gifts and juvenile products. However, unlike traditional B2B sites and trade publications, at The Giggle Guide® the businesses are in control.

I’m finally showing my words again. And I’m sure you thought I was busy painting, creating invoices, and recovering from 2 trade shows. Well, your right! All-in-all considering this crazy economy….I opened up some new accounts and met some wonderful new people along the way. I also took a few days off to spend with my family (the boys) since my hubby has been out of town. Of course, spending time with my boys involves football practice, football games, swim practice, sleepovers ( I did have one night to myself..it was fabulous!), and we did manage a few games of scrabble.

So….I’m in between shows right now and my boys are on Spring Break, which I’m still adjusting to. I’m having a hard time getting invoicing done, painting, and other business needs due to football practice every night…thanks coaches! But, I thought I’d drop in to show all of you some new art that is being featured in LA, Ca. this week. I’ve been wanting to create a piece with an elephant for some time now but I just couldn’t get it out of my brain. Well..as you can see, it finally came out.
