I use Spring Bean clamps for everything! Repairing toys, hanging blankets in sunny windows, and creating tents on a daily basis. It’s gotten to the point that I just keep a bag of them in my car! It’s unbelievable how often I reach for them…

Mommy Toolbox was launched by Mary Kay Holms in the Fall of 2008 after several years of watching her friends use less than ideal tools to attach things to strollers. She says, “I’m always looking for ways to make life easier and being able to strap things onto a stroller or your body leaves your hands free to take care of the kids.” Inspired to help other parents, she created the convenient Carabean clip. Mary Kay, based in Los Angels, gives us a “Behind the Brand” look at the tools of her trade and how she crafted her handy dandy company.

The Giggle Guide® asked 26 moms “Are there certain types of children’s products you’re willing to pay a premium for?” When it comes to the welfare of their children, it is not surprising that most moms will invest more on products that ensure their kids’ health, safety, comfort and education. Quality and durability are also worth a premium. It is interesting that there is one product category in particular moms don’t want to skimp on — what do you think that is?

Children's Club - New York, New York (3/7/10 - 3/9/10)

The Children’s Club Fall 2010 show had a great turnout and was a huge success! It was exciting to see several new companies exhibiting with some unique products. Without the Bubble show running, some of its regular exhibitors decided to attend Children’s Club, largely exhibiting together in one row. With so many great lines, it is a difficult task to pick out favorites, but the following brands stood out to me with their soft, comfortable fabrics and fabulous style!

I am so excited about our new Tent in a Bag. We have made tents at the park, beach, in hotels, and when the girls were little they were completely obsessed with “stroller forts.”

Remember how we used to pile stacks of books onto heavy blankets and try to make tents at home? NO MORE! Grab our Spring Bean clamps and attach the material to beds, chairs, tables, or even park benches and tree branches. Carabean the cute little bag onto the stroller and head out for some summer fun.

Is your business ‘Social’ enough?

The Consumer Electronics Show was just held in Las Vegas, and sometimes you can get a feel for the economy and markets in general from this show, as it is the first big tradeshow of the year.

GOOD NEWS! Attendance was up at the CES over 2009. This bodes well for the economy, as it may just be that consumers are finally starting to feel a little more positive.
