HALO Innovations Introduces New ComfortLuxe® Sleepwear To Help Babies with Sensitive Skin

New Product Wicks Moisture Away; Dries Twice as Fast as Cotton

MINNEAPOLIS (July 26, 2011) – Nearly every parent has experienced this distressing situation: the baby who wakes, irritable and uncomfortable, drenched in perspiration. Unfortunately, the resulting moisture then causes babies’ sensitive skin to become irritated and itchy. For those parents whose children have eczema or severely sensitive skin, an overheated baby can lead to a cycle of itching and scratching which only exacerbates the sensitivity of their child’s skin.

To offer parents an alternative to cotton sleepers (which oftentimes can trap in moisture, an irritant to sensitive skin), HALO Innovations™ has introduced ComfortLuxe™ (http://www.halocomfortluxe.com/), a line of sleepwear that’s lightweight, breathable and transfers moisture away from the baby. Available as a coverall or two-piece sleep set, its unique properties allow fresh air to circulate to keep skin cool, dry and comfortable, helping the baby to remain cooler in warm temperatures and warmer in cooler temperatures. According to HALO Innovations’ Vice President of Marketing, Erica Butler, ComfortLuxe Sleepwear can help soothe and lessen the severity of sensitive skin irritations such as miliaria (heat rash) and more serious conditions like eczema. “ComfortLuxe Sleepwear outperforms cotton, the current standard for children’s wear,” says Butler. “It releases moisture to dry twice as fast and its fabric won’t absorb topical creams and skin treatments like cotton, which helps aid the treatment of eczema.”

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than half of all infants between four months and 15 months of age develop skin rashes and other skin conditions, and 65% of all eczema patients are diagnosed in the first year of life. “Heat and sweating are triggers which cause the itch/scratch cycle to begin among many children who suffer from atopic dermatitis, a common form of eczema,” states Julie Block, President & CEO of the National Eczema Association (NEA). ”Managing this trigger can help control this discomfort and minimize eczema flares.”

Recently, the NEA has awarded the Seal of Acceptance to HALO’s ComfortLuxe Sleepwear. The NEA Seal of Acceptance is awarded to products intended for children and adults with eczema or sensitive skin. “We are thrilled to be recognized by the National Eczema Association for our ComfortLuxe Sleepwear line, as we hear from parents repeatedly that the clothing has greatly improved their baby’s skin and overall comfort,” said Butler.

Jill Lewis, a mother of an active two-year-old son who has suffered from eczema since he was four months old has tried every cream or prescription to ease the symptoms. Looking for a non-medical way to help his symptoms, Lewis tried ComfortLuxe Sleepwear and says that after only two weeks of wearing it, her child had fewer outbreaks, referring to ComfortLuxe as “another tool in your toolkit to help fight any irritations and reduce any redness or rashes.” Hear more of what moms are saying about ComfortLuxe Sleepwear on ComfortLuxe’s Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/halocomfortluxe.

ComfortLuxe Sleepwear is available in pink or blue fabrics and retails for approximately $20. The line includes coveralls in sizes newborn to 9 months, and two-piece sets consisting of a long-sleeved top, and bottoms with an elastic waist, in sizes newborn to 4T. ComfortLuxe Sleepwear is the perfect base-layer complement to the HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket. The fabric is chemical-free with a built in SPF factor of 30+, both benefits that won’t “wash out” from the garment. ComfortLuxe Sleepwear is available online at amazon.com and HaloComfortLuxe.com.
