New moms often face a unique challenge: how to breastfeed without creating a Janet-Jackson-at-the-Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction! Breastfeeding undergarments abound, but postnatal tops and dresses are in short supply. Veteran mom and former news producer Jamie Rubin experienced the “slump after the bump.” Not one to shy away from a challenge, she pulled out all stops to find the best in couture that would allow her to appear cool and classy while breastfeeding. She crafted her own clothes that were both utilitarian and stylish: Milkstars.

Supports Local Communities Affected all Along East Coast

New York, N.Y., August 29, 2011 - Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) announced that it is working with communities all along the East Coast - with particular priority on New Jersey and Vermont - to help in local recovery. Over the next few days and weeks K.I.D.S. will assess the types of product needed to reestablish a normal and functioning life in communities hardest hit by Hurricane Irene and will distribute directly to community-based agencies clothes, shoes, home goods, personal care items and other product necessary for recovery.

Playtime New York - New York, New York (7/30/11 - 8/1/11)

Playtime New York, the international trade show dedicated to all things relating to children, junior and maternity, held a very successful third show from July 30 to August 1, 2011. Buyers and other visitors were very positive and gave big thumbs up to the creative, imaginative space and merchandise. Attendees included many vendors from previous shows as well as some outstanding new collections. Among the standouts were Wovenplay,Tala Bee Kids, and Mini & Maximus.

ABC Kids Expo® has announced that its Maternity Square® Showcase will be back in 2011. The showcase, which debuted in 2010, was such a success that ABC is expanding the showcase and continuing to offer the runway to allow exhibitors to feature and demonstrate their products from the “big stage.” A professional model and talent company has been retained to produce and emcee the runway shows.

Designer Sample Sale to Benefit K.I.D.S. Japan Earthquake Relief
