This year at the Atlanta Women’s & Children’s Apparel & Accessories Market, retailers can look forward to great new products and new showrooms in the Children’s World section. Companies searching for some high quality children’s products should really attend the show to view everything that is available. Here is a review of the three of the latest additions: The Carolina Baby Company, Moo Boo’s and Bebop Baby Shop.

ABC Kids Expo - Las Vegas, Nevada (9/13/09 - 9/16/09)

With miles of aisles, filled with juvenile products, the ABC Expo was a buyer’s (and editor’s) challenge. Does anyone really see more than 1,000 products at ABC? Leesa Valentino and David Gaunt from The Giggle Guide® were on the prowl throughout the show. Here are just a few of the products that we discovered from Baby Elephant Ears, Oxo, Teamees, Baby Magoo, Baby Sherpa, Abiie, BabbaCo and Lipper International

ABC Kids Expo - Las Vegas, Nevada (9/13/09 - 9/16/09)

The Giggle Guide’s Leesa Valentino and David Gaunt have been walkin’ and talkin’ throughout the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas. With over one million square feet of exhibit space, our four feet are barkin’. We saw miles of product during the four day event and are pleased to report that buyers are spending money and exhibitors seem upbeat. Lots of positive energy!

Special thanks to The World Market Center, Vegas Kids, for inviting us to be guest speakers for their seminar series. Our presentation “Web Sites: Optimize to Maximize” on September 15th, was a big success.

Mom Inventors Help Build the Baby Business with Inspired Inventions!
This week, The Giggle Guide® will highlight some new products and line extensions premiering at The ABC Kids Expo, Las Vegas Convention Center, Sept 13-16.

SummerMuff is a soft sac that lines infant carriers, strollers and joggers to provide baby comfort and protection from the sun’s harmful ways. It’s invented by a mom, Colleen Schropfer, who brought the product to market after looking for something to protect her own child. Dipe n’ Go is another real-life solution to a problem that inspired mom Rose Marie Iskowitz to change the way parents change diapers on-the-go. At the ABC Show, oftentimes, moms are the mothers of invention!

Each year, Productivity PR, Inc. has the honor and privilege to represent several exhibitors at the ABC Kids Expo.

With August fast approaching us, you start to think, “Where did July go?” Or more so, “Where did summer go?” We tend to be so wrapped up in work, family, our children’s events and finding time for ourselves in the mix of it all that time flies by us. But there is still plenty of time left in August to get in fun, cheap activities you haven’t done yet this summer while still enjoying the sun and warm weather.

Are we there yet? As part of our Kid’s Travel Series the Giggle Guide™ has found some of the newest and most inventive products out there to keep kids busy, and quiet, on those long car rides and extended layovers. When children are in the van, go creative (like “Van Gogh”!). These brands offer little artists great MPG (masterpieces per gallon) when on-the-road: Alex Toys, Klutz, Alfonsi Venetis Kids and Lap Desk.

Stuffed animals, books, crayons, and tiny plastic game pieces with no home all somehow manage to make their way into little one’s packing. You simply cannot leave the house without “those” three blocks — they are essential! Packing with and for kids can be a maddening experience. As part of The Giggle Guide’s™ ongoing Travel Series, we are exploring kids’ backpacks — perfect for overnight trips, sleepovers, day outings, and weekends at Grandma’s! We have found some backpacks that should be front and center!

Traveling can cause jet lag. But traveling with kids may cause “kid lag,” resulting in pure exhaustion. However, vacation-bound Moms and Dads can breathe a sigh of relief because The Giggle Guide™ has found some products for travel that make getting on-the-go more fun and stylish! For the best in arrivals and departures, we found just the ticket with these baggage handlers: Dante Beatrix, Room It Up, Sassafras, TrendyKid and Faith Knight.

A few weeks ago I wrote about key factors that influence why sales reps choose to represent your brand.

Those factors include:
• Good marketing; Branding
• Exclusivity of product
• Appropriate price points
• Focus
• “It” factor

Those points focus on your product. Some other key points that influence why a rep might work with you, or might continue to work with you, focus on, well… you.

The Rep Relationship

I often receive phone calls from people in the kid’s industry. Usually from recruiters, sales managers, entrepreneurs or moms soliciting advice and ostensibly, building their network. These callers speed through the “niceties” portion of the call and, after their lightning-fast self-introduction, I often don’t know the name of who’s calling me, or why they’re calling.

I have had the recent pleasure of coming across a special little store. Upon entering their Web site you are instantly aware that you are about to venture where only the cutest, sweetest baby things are.. pictures of little angels in leopard leotards and flapper style hats let you know that you are in for a unique experience. This is not your average Baby Boutique. In fact this is Brea’s Baby Boutique, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
