This spring and summer, as your customers become more aware of what’s on the labels of their clothes, proudly display Made in the USA. Marketing surveys are showing an increasing desire, in particular among Americans, to purchase products made in the States in support of American jobs, hand craftsmanship and durability. This label and the movement behind it has gained popularity and retailers can take advantage this summer with Flap Happy protective swimwear, airy dresses from Aria, joyous outfits from Giggle Moon and daring denim from Preston Miles Kids.

For kids who don’t just want to own a pony but would like to be one, check out Hoofitz rain boots, footwear with a unique sole that leaves hoof prints. The rationale is that the sole mimics the grip, flexion, and balance of a horse’s hoof so the boots are comfortable as well as long-wearing. As an antidote to couch-potatohood, these boots are fun to wear, encouraging youngsters to get up, go out and horse around. Eileen Kenney, professional horse trainer and highly experienced rider who competes in equine events often on her own horse Riot Gear, created Hoofitz.

Learning how to code seems like a daunting task, but with the dome-shaped Ozobot it just feels like playing games. This little USB-charged robot can be programed to do virtually anything the user wants, from playing interactive games to racing other Ozobots on a custom made course. It can even learn choreography and get its groove on. Following a color-coded path, the Ozobot can change speed, direction, and action depending on whatever the user wishes. For kids curious about programing, or the robotic obsessed, this makes a great birthday gift for a whole group of friends.

NapiNol Nursery Therapies creates all-natural skin care products with only the most necessary ingredients. They vow to use as few ingredients as possible, and each with a vital purpose for the skin. Their products contain no synthetics, no chemicals and nothing that isn’t on the label. Their products meet the strictest standards set by the Environmental Working Group, scoring a zero toxicity rating. NapiNol values this honesty and clarity because they have a working knowledge of both natural maternal needs and pharmaceutical formulation, allowing them to find natural solutions to product development where others resort to synthetics for help.

Toys that promise to entertain kids while also teaching a skill are rare, and oftentimes are more for show than education. Not with LightUp, a company devoted to teaching children about the world of electronics and programing through interactive circuit building and coding. Kids will become fascinated when they learn how to make a circuit run, and can even write a custom program for it once built. It’s the perfect gift for the curious child interested in how everyday objects work.

Children's Club - New York, New York (3/1/15 - 3/3/15)

New York’s Javit’s Center rocked the 2015 ENK International Children’s Club from March 1 through 3, 2015. Over fifty brands displayed collections for the first time and there were showings by a large number of both new and international collections. Everything for kids was on view for an enthusiastic crowd of buyers, editors and bloggers as more than 650 exhibitors convened to display their wares. To further delight the crowd, prodigy DJ Fussyman was on hand to spin the turntables. Holly Hastie, Oogoolz, Shampoodle, and Charabia are a few of the brands that exhibited at the most recent Children’s Club NYC.

The art of doll making has a history that goes back thousands of years. In a world without mass produced playthings, items like dolls were precious and hard to come by. Eventually, dolls evolved into the comfort and fashion objects we’re familiar with today, and can be found by the hundreds in just about any discount or department store in the world, but there are still a number of craftspeople who continue to produce interesting, beautiful and top-quality dolls. Viola Hale, of Viola Studio Dolls, is one of these artists.

One evening Danielle Stangler was out to eat with her family when she looked over to see her 18-month-old daughter covered in macaroni and cheese. Stangler knew that her tired little one was going to hate having her face wiped and was anticipating the scene that she was about to endure. She asked her husband to dip his napkin in his drink and proceeded to wipe her face. To her surprise, the reaction to the napkin was “nummy, nummy!” As it turned out, her husband’s drink was lemonade. Stangler was able to get every last piece of food off with no battle at all. From there, the idea for a flavored face wipe, NeatCheeks, was born.

Diaper rashes, sports rashes, even rashes from hot, humid weather are terrible to experience. With Quantuminds Baby Powder Wipes, these can be wiped away and keep skin feeling fresh. The revolutionary combination of a wipe plus a powder makes this all-in-one product a fast solution. Do away with toting around rash powders, wipes, and medicated ointment. A more sanitary option, the user doesn’t have to worry about contaminating the infected area during application since the rash will only be touched with the wipe itself. Put this versatile product in the baby, exercise, and home improvement aisles to reach many target audiences.

Upon starting her career in the sports market at Nike and Reef (a surf lifestyle brand), Silly Souls Founder and President Shelly Foster found a real need for a fun and cool urban brand for babies. When Silly Souls launched in 2002 (originally called babygags), the urban, surf and skate brands had not yet fully entered the baby market. “The market was very classic pink and blue,” according to Foster. “I wanted to create a fun, funny, irreverent kids brand parents would love and laugh at.”
