Playtime: Let's be adventurous!

Let’s be adventurous !

Every season Playtime chooses a new theme, in step with and reflecting current events, the latest from the workshops, the Trend Spaces and the exhibitions.
This theme will be expressed by all our partners and contributors throughout the show.

For this edition of Playtime New York, we shall set off on “an Adventure” up and down the aisles of the fair, a journey in this world but, also, within ourselves, somewhere between dreaming and reality…

TREND SPACES

IN THE HUMAN BODY BY JOSHUA BEN LONGO
Joshua ben Longo graduated from Pratt Institute in 2003. In reaction to the restrictive world of commercial design he began to pursue showing his own work which includes sculpture, furniture, elaborate exhibits and illustration. Joshua has shown his work throughout the world in solo and group exhibitions. He currently works at Pratt Institute & NJIT teaching aspiring young designers. Along with the art, Joshua writes music and looks forward to a long career in motivational speaking.

«‘Longoland’ is a result of my formal training as a Industrial Designer, an obsession with monsters and comic book heroes, and my fascination with riding the line between comfort and discomfort. It is a creative process of two and three dimensionally sketching and a slow and intuitive exploration of material and form. I never stopped playing and I don’t plan to anytime soon.»
