If parents could give their kids a boost in language skills at a very early age, would they try it? That’s the mission behind Creative Baby and its extended line of educational products that offers baby steps in exposing tots to phonics, foreign languages, geography and nature. Their award-winning foam i-Mats –– where pictures “talk” to youngsters when touched with a Voice Pen™ –– expand with two new play mats, Alphabet i-Mat ($29.99 MSRP) and Under The Sea i-Mat ($29.99). ABC Kids Expo (Sept. 6-10, Las Vegas) attendees can try out each of these pieces at Booth #3625.

I continue to be impressed with the product innovations introduced by HALO. The introduction of the HALO Bassinest was a personal product highlight of mine when it was first introduced at ABC Kids Expo. Now, the brand is introducing more innovations and options to co-sleeping and baby’s own safe sleep space with new Bassinest product selections. Great news for retailers and new parents. The HALO Bassinest Swivel Sleeper is a safe and effective way to keep a sleeping baby close to mom in the early months, but always in his own safe sleep space. Based on the popularity of the original design featuring a silver base and sophisticated Damask pattern from the Premiere Silver series, additional choices will be unveiled at the ABC Kids Expo, shipping December, 2014, for a January 5, 2015 date online and in stores.

The best thing about babies is they allow us to relive our childhoods. And the Kissy Kissy Spring/Summer ‘15 collection is heavy on summertime nostalgia with imagery that evokes memories of lazy days at the beach, fun adventures in the park and long cruises along the water. The beloved baby clothing brand offers new twists on favorite silhouettes, themes and treatments for a fresh update on the signature look moms, grandmothers and gift-givers have grown to love. And after a successful preview capsule, the label officially launches its sleepwear range with a full line of Peruvian Pima cotton, snug-fitting pajamas for girls and boys sizes 12-18 months to 6.

UviCube is the first product of its kind in the United States to use UV light to disinfect baby bottles, mobile phones, electronics, toys and other personal and household items. The UviCube founders will be demonstrating the new product at the ABC Kids Expo at booth #4625 on September 7-10, 2014. Primarily designed to dry and disinfect baby bottles, UviCube houses a highly reflective inner chamber that allows UV light to be reflected in all directions, effectively killing 99.9% of exposed germs with the touch of a button.

Mothers would like nothing better than to carry an “It” bag that doubles as a diaper bag. From her styling and fashion experience, Cathryn A. Fisfis created an eponymous line that has style and taste. “Fashion is expensive; style doesn’t have to be” is the Cathryn A. Fisfis motto. Combining fashion with function, her bags have the aesthetic of a top-market handbag with the usability of a diaper bag. The Samantha model, with a cowhide body, lambskin bow and water repellant lining, has a wire frame opening at the top so it’s easy to locate whatever mom is looking for. The eleven pockets make it baby-friendly, while nickel detailing gives it a look of elegance.

In 2009, Marjorie Stiegler recognized that pregnant athletes were suffering from a huge void in the market. With few choices of maternity activewear, and poor design among the choices that did exist, she launched For Two Fitness. When her apparel hit the market, pregnant “fitness-istas” were finally being served in a completely new way with high performance, supportive athletic wear. The line never sacrifices quality to fashion, and has flattering and flexible fit details that truly last the entire pregnancy and beyond.

New parents love for their baby bundle of joy to stand out from day one, right in the hospital nursery. They also want their little one to be snug and warm. How do they make this happen? With Infanteenie Beenies: adorable hats for babes that are guaranteed to stay on. Now when those earliest photos are taken, a newborn can be easily identified as a little lassie or laddie in a special Beenie, made of the same material that hospital baby hats are, but with way more style. Whether your customers go for Her First Bow to adorn a girl or Daddy is my BFF for a guy, you will be offering a new item that will win raves.

What’s the one dream all kids have in common? To be a super hero, of course! When Holly Bartman’s son turned four he wanted a super hero themed party, but he wanted something a little different. So Bartman jumped behind her sewing machine and started making capes as a take-away gift for all of the party attendees. Upon seeing the creations one of the moms said, “You need to make these to sell!” So Bartman gave it a try. The process was slow to start, but grew through the years. Now, eight years later, Superfly Kids has 18 employees and is making thousands of capes every week.

Trendsetting tweens are getting more difficult to predict, so coming up with collections that vary in style, size and season is crucial to creating loyal customers in both parents and kids. The back-to-school period is closing in, and you want to offer the cool clothes kids go nuts for. Tweens will stand out in urban and international brands like Cars Jeans, Frankie & Liberty, Vingino and Jake Fischer.
